Update on Book Challenge

Read 25 books for Goodreads Challenge

  1. The Testaments by Margaret Atwood

I have finished reading “The Testaments” and I recommend it to everyone. But read “The Handmaid’s Tale” first.

I am now reading several books…

“Know My Name” by Chanel Miller. Chanel is the young woman who was raped while unconscious by Brock Turner at Stanford.

“A Warning” by Anonymous. An inside look at Donald Trump’s Administration

“Fear: Trump in the White House” by Bob Woodward

“Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House by Michael Wolff. I’ve read this one before and I’m re-reading it for context with the other books.

“A Very Stable Genius: Donald J Trump’s Testing of America” by Carol Leonnig and Philip Rucker. I have this pre-ordered and it comes out in the 21st, so just five days from now. It will be interesting to see how it compares with these other books about Trump’s White House.

  1. You sound a bit like me in your fascination with books about Trump! I mainly listen to audiobooks, and every month when I get my audible credit, I buy another one! I’m currently listening to “Proof of Collusion” by Seth Abramson, and I just finished “Trumpocracy” by David Frum.

    1. I’ll have to add those books to my “to read”. I started researching Donald Trump in 2010, just before he decided to run for president for the 2012 election. I didn’t always like what I found, but at least he seemed a little more balanced than he does now. I have no doubt that he has ADHD (like me). I started researching his history when I learned we might be related. Still haven’t confirmed that, but I’m hoping it’s not the case.

      1. Wow! That sounds like it could be a potentially fascinating lineage! I do think that he has either adopted or ramped up some very repellent characteristics in order to appeal to his fanbase. I was never a fan of his, but since running for president, he has certainly turned into an alarming reflection of some of the worst aspects of society 😣

  2. The ideas he has right now have always been there, but not quite as rabid as they are at the moment. He most certainly does pander to his fanbase, but even more so to the Evangelistic right and a bit to the conservative Republicans who are former Tea Party members. But Trump will swing to whatever direction gives him the most attention. If it was the Liberal Democrats he would be a card carrying Democrat screaming for reform. But he knows that it’s the gullibly trained conservatives who he can con the most.
