A Pessimist complains about the wind, an Optimist expects it to change and the REALIST adjusts his sails. ~ Unknown
I consider myself, at the very least, to be an optimist, but in reality, I am a realist. That reality can go in different directions.. from complaining about the wind to complaining that the wind doesn’t exist. A realist understands that they have no control either way, they just have to go with the flow.
Sometimes that it easy to do, from the perspective that if you can’t control it, you aren’t to blame when you can’t do what you hoped to it.
“It’s not my fault. Fault lies with the wind.”
But on the other hand, you can’t claim any success either.
“I only won because of the assistance of the wind.”
Optimists often want to take credit for everything. Pessimists usually want to blame everything on others. Realists, for the most part, understand that they can’t do anything alone and often times they can’t do anything at all. So they are most likely willing to be grateful for whatever happens and adjusts their sails so they can get the best outcome possible.
