Where You Are

Whatever you enjoy, you improve. Enjoy where you are, and suddenly where you are has more value. ~ Ralph Marston

The older I get, the harder it is for me to be away from home, to do just this… enjoy where I am. I watched my father in law struggle with this as he got older and then my mother as she did as well. There must be something about the security of being at home. In your own bed. Knowing where the bathroom is. Living by your own personal routine. When I was younger I could anywhere, sleep almost anywhere and felt at home and felt secure. I’m dismayed that those days are over now. Or at least, that’s how they feel.I no longer feel like I have the freedom I use to have… physically as well as emotionally. Part of that is age. Part of it is anxiety.
